My name is KC Colter. I went to college at the University of Montana and have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resources. After college, I worked for Outward Bound teaching mountaineering and backpacking skills. I have lived in remote regions of Alaska from 1990 to 2003. During that time I gained valuable experience learning how to respect and live close to nature. I have built my own cabins and worked remotely in the field for 13 years.

My off grid and wilderness living allows me to bring a unique ideas and understanding to the HOWA projects. Since leaving Alaska, I have lived as a nomad off and on over the years between owning homes. I have also taught English online to Chinese students from toddler age to adult business English. I have had the opportunity to gain some advanced computer skills in the last couple of years while learning the software for online teaching and green screen videography.  I am now able to bring some of this experience to my work with HOWA to assist with computer and technical solutions.

I live full time in a Chevy Express Van. I am interested helping others to find an affordable and sustainable way of life, where they can find happiness and meaningful friendships.
