I have been on the road since January 2010, traveling full-time in my 1977 Class C motorhome.  I have been pleasantly surprised by the community of nomads that I have met over the years.  This is a group of people from all walks of life, willing to help one another out and share knowledge at a level I had previously not known.  While becoming a full-time nomad can be a bit frightening, when you have a good group of people to help you along the way, it makes the transition into this lifestyle a wonderful experience.  This is part of what HOWA has to offer.

My own personal experiences throughout my life have given me skills I would like to share with others in this community.  I graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering and worked as a project engineer in Houston, Texas.  In Denver, Colorado, I was a manager at Starbucks Coffee Company for 7 years and was the Community Involvement Lead for our district.  I spent a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer, where I learned the many facets of running a nonprofit organization.  Through that experience, I gained some knowledge in grant writing, fundraising, event planning and volunteer management.  I also coordinated and taught financial literacy courses to low-income individuals.  Rounding out my experience, I’ve also held many seasonal and temporary positions throughout the United States.  I’ve worked as a substitute teacher, ski instructor, kayak guide, CPR/first aid instructor and campground host.  Through HOWA, I plan to share my knowledge and experiences, while working together to create a community for newcomers to the nomadic way of life.
