BYOV & Roadtrek Grant — Fall 2022

Bring Your Own Vehicle – Pahrump, Nevada

Volunteer information and sign-up — click here.

After a successful Spring BYOV, another, larger event is planned for October 2022 in Pahrump, NV.  Applications to receive help with specific vehicle build projects is available.

Please note that no mechanical work is done at the event.

In late July 2022, HOWA was gifted a 2002 Roadtrek RV by Robert May of Las Vegas.  Thank you so much.  Mr. May directed HOWA to grant his Roadtrek to someone in need.

Therefore, concurrent with the BYOV, HOWA’s volunteers will be sprucing up the Roadtrek during the first two weeks of October.  Then, in the second two weeks of October, a Recipient will arrive and be readied for life on the road in their Roadtrek RV.  To apply for the Roadtrek Grant, click here.

The volunteer sign-ups to spruce up the Roadtrek or to help nomads in need at the BYOV in October 2022 is HERE!

WRTR and RTR January 2023

Women’s Rubber Tramp Rendezvous and Rubber Tramp Rendezvous – Quartzsite, Arizona

Volunteer positions descriptions and an online application will be posted on the HOWA website around the end of November 2022.

For over a decade, thousands of nomads gather together in the Quartzsite, Arizona area during the month of January to take part in the WRTR and RTR. It is a wonderful opportunity to connect with old friends and make new ones. During the RTRs, there are classes and presentations taught by experienced nomads on the basics of successful nomad living, open house days when nomads show off their homes on wheels, meet and greets with Bob Wells and Suanne Carlson (co-founders of HOWA), and a gigantic free pile where nomads swap items to line their rigs.

These events run for a total of about two weeks. As you can imagine, it takes a fair number of volunteers to organize and help host this wonderful gathering. Volunteering offers you a way to be involved at a whole different level than just attending.

Here are some links to some of the presentations at past and online RTRs.
