How is the HOWA Bulletin Board Setup

The HOWA Bulletin Board has a Dashboard where you can see and manage all of your listings and two Boards: User Profiles, where you can post information about yourself, and the Bulletin Board where you can post OFFERS and REQUESTS of help and assistance.

Who can use the Bulletin Board?

The Bulletin Board is intended as a tool for those who spend long periods of time vehicle dwelling. All nomads and members of the mobile community are welcome to sign-up for an account to use the Bulletin Board.

Safety Tips for Meeting Up

The overwhelming majority of HOWA members are trustworthy and well-meaning, and we expect the same of the people who use this board.

However, please take a few common sense precautions when meeting strangers, especially if you are exchanging money with a stranger or meeting them offline.

When meeting someone for the first time, here are some guidelines to consider:

  • Meet at a public place, like a busy park or shopping center. Do not meet in a secluded area.
  • Take special care if purchasing high-value items. Test them to make sure they work as advertised before exchanging funds.
  • Keep your cell phone with you and on your person.
  • Consider having a friend join you.
  • Trust your instincts. If a meeting doesn’t feel right, leave.
How do I register/create an account to use the Bulletin Board?

Go to https://homesonwheelsalliance.org/bulletinboard/ and click ‘Sign Up’.

Create a username (all one word, no spaces, commas, or special characters), enter your email,  create a password, enter your First Name and Last Name, Check the boxes to agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions, and click ‘Sign Up’.

You will be redirected to the main Bulletin Board page and an email confirmation will be sent to you.

How do I add a listing?

You can add a new listing by going to the Dashboard and Clicking on the Submit Listing Button.

Next, click on the Bulletin Board

Fill out the listing form, agree to the Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions and click ‘Save & Preview’.

Review and click ‘Continue’

FAQ about selecting tags

When adding an offer or a request, you are asked to select the Tag(s) that best describe the offer or request.  This allows others to easily search listings.

Once you select the Tag(s) that apply to your listing, you can add more detailed information in the Details box.

Here is a list of available Tags with examples of the types of listings that would fall under each Tag.

SOLAR POWER & ELECTRICAL — cars, vans, trucks

  • Solar Power System Installation — RV and non-RV
  • Solar Power System Design — RV and non-RV
  • 12v Installations — fan, lighting, power receptacles

RV SYSTEMS — electrical/solar, tanks, plumbing

  • Vehicle-Home Design and Layout

COMMUNITY BUILDING — mentoring, connections

How do I search listings?

Click on View all Listings

At the top of the listings, you can search by keyword or other filters available on the Board.

Matching results will load.

How do I save listings that I want to come back to later?

When you find a listing that you would like to save to come back to later, click the heart icon in the upper right hand corner of the listing. This adds the listing to your favorites.

To view your favorite listings, go to the Dashboard where you will find ‘My favorite listings’ in the left hand menu. Click ‘My favorite listings’ to view the listings you saved.

How do I contact a listing owner?

When you find a listing that you would like to reply to, click on the listing and scroll down until you see the form that says, ‘Contact the owner of this listing.’

Enter your Name, Email, a Message, and click ‘Submit’.

The listing owner will receive your message and will be able to reply to the email you entered.

Please allow the listing owner some time to respond and if they do not respond, please do not send them repeated messages.

PRO TIP: ‘Favorite’ a listing to go back to it later. See FAQ above.

How do I edit a listing?

You can edit a listing at any time.

To edit a listing, go to Dashboard > My Listings.

Click ‘Edit’ at the end of the line of the listing that you want to update.

Make your changes and click ‘Preview Changes’ then click ‘Continue’

Edits will need to be approved by the moderator before they go live.

How do I renew a listing?

Your listings will expire in 30 days.

You can view the expiration date of your listings by going to Dashboard, My Listings. The expiration date is listed.

You will also receive an email notice 2 days before your listing is due to expire.

To renew a listing, click the three dots next to ‘More’ at the end of the listing and choose ‘Renew’.

The listing will be reviewed and published by the Moderator within 24 hrs.

How do I delete a listing?

You can delete a listing at any time.

To delete a listing, go to Dashboard, My Listings.

Click on the three dots next to ‘More’ at the end of the listing that you want to delete and click ‘Delete Listing’.

A warning message will pop up asking ‘Are you sure?’. Click ‘Yes, Delete it!’ to confirm that you wish to delete the listing.

How do I leave a review?

You can leave a review on the User Profile of an individual who you have connected with.

To leave a review, you will first need to locate the User Profile for the individual you want to review. You can do this by searching the board in question, or, if you added the listing to your Favorite Listings, then you can find in on Dashboard > My Favorite Listings.

Click on the listing to view it and scroll to the bottom until you see “Write Your Review”.

Choose a rating, leave a comment, and click ‘Submit Review’.

Your review will be published within 24 hrs by the Moderator.

Who do I contact for technical assistance?

Your request will be processed and confirmed within 24 hrs.

How do I delete/cancel my account?

To delete your account, please email the Site Administrator at For more information or questions about the Online Bulletin Board, to update your profile, or request a password reset, email bulletinboard@homesonwheelsalliance.org. and ask for your HOWA Bulletin Board account to be deleted. Your request will be processed and confirmed within 24 hrs.
