Suanne Carlson, a nomad since 2009, embodies a passion for a life immersed in nature and exploration. Camping 24/7 is not just a lifestyle for her; it’s the epitome of her best life. Suanne finds joy in the backcountry, camping in a home on wheels. Her journey has led her through various camping setups, from a Class C to a built-out full-size van and even a Prius. However, she has ultimately embraced a compact hybrid SUV as her preferred camping vehicle, sharing the road with her loyal canine companion, Lenny.

In her career, Suanne worked in higher education policy, particularly with a focus on online education. Yet, her recent endeavors have taken her on a different path as she co-founded Homes On Wheels Alliance (HOWA) alongside Bob Wells. Suanne’s commitment to HOWA’s mission led her to serve as its first Executive Director for over five years, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to the community it serves.

Before her involvement with HOWA, Suanne made significant contributions to the nomadic community by founding the Women’s Rubber Tramp Rendezvous (WRTR), an event held in conjunction with the Rubber Tramp Rendezvous (RTR).

Suanne Carlson’s overarching belief in the mission of HOWA is evident in her efforts to honor and uplift the community it serves. Her extensive experience, heartfelt dedication, and profound understanding of the nomadic way of life allow her to make a rich contribution to the success and growth of Homes On Wheels Alliance.
